About the Artist

Susannah Edwards is an illustrator and art teacher from Northern Virginia. She has a B.A. in Studio Art from Goucher College and an M.F.A. in Illustration from Savannah College of Art and Design. Previous illustration clients have included University of Kentucky Press, Washington Parent Magazine, What’s Up? Eastern Shore Magazine, and Stoney Lonesome Farm. When she is not illustrating, Susannah teaches art classes in public schools and community centers throughout Northern Virginia. Like most teachers, she is a lifelong student. She enjoys visiting museums, taking classes, reading books and magazines, doing research about her illustration topics, and traveling. Edwards hopes that her illustrations will educate and inspire readers. She posts current projects, student art, and travel photos on her blog, Susannah’s Sketchbook.
